Support The Village
Who We Are
The Village is a values-driven ministry of Christ followers that seeks to bring Christ to post-modern people in the Tucson community and to offer acceptance, kindness, and love to those who are broken, hurting, and in pain.

Our New Building!
As many of you know, we at the Village have had a deep longing to have our own space since we planted the church 7 plus years ago. We spent many years in the back rooms of other churches who graciously offered us a place to meet.

Over a year ago we were blessed by an anonymous donor, who heard about our story and decided he/she wanted to help us reach our dream of having a church building. The donor offered $300,000 to The Village – but would release it to us only after we had raised $100,000 ourselves. So we have been on a quest these last few months to do just that.
Then, in December 2008 the church currently hosting us announced that they were renovating the activity center where we met, so we had until the last Sunday of January 2009 to find a new place. One month! We had raised just $80,000 of the money toward a new building, so we didn’t know what we were going to do. Right on cue, God did what he always has done: a church who had previously hosted us was in the process of closing down, and they bequeathed a portion of their assets to The Village. Our donor considered that sufficient for our part of the deal, so he/she released the $300,000 in mid-January. Again, just as we needed a place to buy, a small church building whose membership had dwindled offered to sell the building to The Village at a great price. We bought it the last week of January!
Our first meeting in our new church building was Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 1, 2009.
The Village community has really come together to make this place our own -- coming on Saturdays to re-vamp the worship room, creating safe places for our kids, getting the prayer chapel/counseling office ready and several other projects. We hope in the future to establish a small café and a community garden.
Thank you to all of you who by your prayers and financial support helped us to realize this dream! Please come to visit us sometime at our new building: 1926 N Cloverland Ave, Tucson AZ 85712.
Continuing Support Opportunities...
We are still needing support to finish paying for the building and renovations.
As we move forward our community seeks to continue ministering to the broken and hurting of Tucson. Toward this end, we have invited 3 Villagers to begin raising financial support to move into staff positions.
James Hildebrandt is presently working part-time as an associate and administrative pastor and hopes to raise support to come on staff as a full-time associate pastor.
Julie Brunson currently works part-time as a counselor at the Village and is raising support to complete a 20-hour position to expand the counseling ministry that is so vital to our community.
Lori Moore volunteers much of her time to various Village activities. She would like to work as a paid intern responsible for community relations, creating a youth program, managing The Village Café, and working on outreach opportunities.
